What do I need to run it?

macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later on an Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or newer).

Does anything leave my Mac?

Your dictation never does — transcription and enhancement run locally. The only network access is the optional model download, checking for app updates, and activating or deactivating your license. See our privacy notice for exactly what's sent and to whom.

How does the trial work?

Download and launch — a 14-day trial starts automatically. No sign-up, no email, no credit card. Full features during the trial.

What happens when the trial ends?

Dictation keeps working to your clipboard; AI enhancement and auto-paste pause until you activate a license. Your settings are preserved.

What are the license terms?

One-time purchase. Each tier covers a number of Macs (1 / 2 / 3); you can deactivate a Mac to free a seat and move it to another.

Do I need to bring an API key?

No. Unlike cloud-enhanced tools, saidso's AI enhancement runs on a local model — nothing to sign up for.

Privacy notice

Your audio and dictated text never leave your Mac. saidso makes network connections only for the three purposes below. No dictation content is ever transmitted in any of them.

License activation and deactivation. When you activate or deactivate a license, saidso sends your license key and a hashed device identifier to our licensing service (Cloudflare Workers) and to Lemon Squeezy, our payment and licensing provider, to verify and manage your seats. Cloudflare processes your IP address transiently for rate limiting and does not log it.
App update checks. saidso checks GitHub for new releases so you can stay up to date. These requests expose your IP address and app/OS version to GitHub, who hosts our releases. Automatic checks ask your permission first.
Optional model download. If you choose to download a speech or enhancement model, that file is fetched over the network. This is optional and initiated by you.
